The Manz Privacy Hotels Switzerland - Swiss hotel group with tradition
The Manz Privacy Hotels Switzerland is one of the last Swiss hotelgroups. The owner’s family directs and develops the hotels in Zurich, Basel and Lausanne in its fourth generation.
Swiss hotelgroup since 1889
In 1889 Caspar Manz owned a highly speculative assessed hotel in the suburbs of Zurich. This was the first step in the long history of the Hotel St. Gotthard. Today, the First Class Hotel is situated in the city centre of Zurich, on the famous Bahnhofstrasse and directly at the Zurich main rail station. Over the decades, the Manz family acquired more hotels and is now one of the few traditional hotelier families in Switzerland with seven hotels in Swiss major cities.
Thanks to constant innovations in combination with the tradition of Swiss hospitality the Manz family could enlarge the hotel group frequently and establish itself in the Swiss hotel landscape.
Responsible Group Chief Officer
In October 2016 Thomas Nikielewski became Group Chief Officer of the Manz Privacy Switzerland AG again, after he was intermediately entrusted with the transition of the Hotel De La Paix Genf - which is also part of the family business - to Ritz Carlton as operating company.
Already from 2012 till 2015 Thomas Nikielewski, who is an experienced manager in the hotel business, has been the responsible Group Chief Officer of the MPH. In the 80s he was General Manager of the Hotel St. Gotthard Zurich of the former CEM group. Afterwards he worked several years abroad for Mövenpick (General Manager in Rad, Saudi Arabia / openings in Jordan, re-branding and instruction in Johannesburg, South Africa, hotel opening in Tanger, Morocco and Jeddah, Saudi Arabia) and also in the head office in Zurich.
